Elon Musk Plans To Invest In India, Calls Himself Fan Of Modi
During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States, he met with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of Twitter.
After the meeting, Musk expressed his admiration for Modi, stating, “I’m a fan of Modi.” He further described the meeting as fantastic and mentioned their previous interaction when Modi visited Tesla’s factory in California a few years ago.
Musk expressed his excitement about the future of India and stated that he believes India holds more promise than any other large country in the world. When asked about Tesla’s plans for India, Musk expressed confidence in Tesla’s presence in the country, stating that it will happen as soon as possible.
He praised Modi’s commitment to India and his support for companies, emphasizing that Modi wants to do the right thing for India and ensure that any investments accrue to the country’s advantage.
In a previous interview with The Wall Street Journal, Musk had already expressed interest in the Indian market, saying “Absolutely.”
Modi, in a tweet after the meeting, appreciated Musk’s efforts in making technology accessible and affordable and invited him to explore investment opportunities in India, particularly in electric mobility and the commercial space sector.
The meeting between Modi and Musk took place during Modi’s three-day state visit to the US, which included meetings with business leaders, an address to a joint session of the US Congress, and a state dinner at the White House with US President Joe Biden. The trip aimed to strengthen trade and defense ties between India and the US.

Musk’s positive statements about Modi and his optimism about India’s future highlight the potential for collaboration between Tesla and India in the field of electric mobility.
