An FIR was filed against the Balaji founder by Anapurna Police on complaint of the resident of the Indore Valmik Sakaragaye who said that the show spreads obscenity and ‘hurts religious feelings’. The complaint also consisted of the Indian Army’s uniform and the national emblem in a highly objectionable way.
In November the filmmaker had filed a plea in the state high court to dismiss the case against her but HC instead dismissed her plea that forced Kapoor to go to Supreme Court with her request to squash the plea.
The SC on Thursday said that it was unhappy with the order passed by the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
A statement was later released by Kapoor’s side saying, “As an individual and as an organisation we are deeply respectful towards Indian Army. Their contribution to our well being and security is immense. We have already deleted the scene that is being spoken about, so action has been taken from our side. We fully apologise for any sentiment that is hurt unintentionally. What we don’t appreciate is the bullying and the rape threats by the trolls.”
Ahead of releasing the statement, Kapoor also moved to the High Court saying that she had no knowledge about the content displayed in the episode as he was never the one to direct or produce the show. Even her name is not included in the end credits of the 45-year-old.
She also had issued an apology for unintentionally hurting the sentiments and deleted that particular scene from the series. But still, teh HC wasadmant on the complaint saying that since she was the managing director of the platform, she should have been aware of the matter.
