Durand Cup Result: Jamshedpur FC Defeats Air Force Team
In the country’s oldest league ‘Durand Cup’ JFC beat the Air Force team on Thursday. JFC ranked 3rd in the group but IAF came in last position.
In the last league game of the current Durand Cup in Kolkata, Jamshedpur FC outplayed the Indian Air Force 2-1. Ruatmawia scored in the 84th and 26th minutes for Jamshedpur FC.
With 6 points from four games, the team ranked 3rd in the group and was eliminated from the competition. After losing four of its first four games, the IAF squad came in bottom in the group.
Jamshedpur Got Victory In The 26th Minute
The Air Force made some solid decisions in the final moments, but their luck was against them. Both sides were struggling to put the finishing touches together, but the JFC team’s youthful players appeared more enthusiastic.

The crew initially carried out planned assaults. Ruatmawia’s superb through pass allowed Piyush Takhuri to score a spectacular goal in the game’s 26th minute.
After scoring a goal, the Air Force team retaliated, but Jamshedpur FC’s defense line was immediately on high alert. However, not even the Air Force was willing to give up so quickly.
Air Force’s Unsuccessful Counterattack
Within five minutes of finishing the goal, he launched two counterattacks. A fantastic goal by Soma tied the game at 1-1. For both teams, it was now a matter of life or death.

The JFC offensive line was unable to retain the ball within the goal frame on the second attempt, and the goalkeeper was well off his line.

Both Teams Missed Chances
Both teams attempted to establish momentum in the second half but were unable to control the midfield. Lenin and Piyush of the JFC were replaced on the field by Kamlesh and Nikhil Barla.
When Kamlesh’s ball went over the goalpost while he was on the ground, he lost a tremendous opportunity. In the 84th minute, Ruatmawia scored to earn Jamshdepur FC the title.
