Drug Menace In Manipur To Be Destroyed Completely: Manipur CM
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that the source of heroin cultivation and other drug menace will be eliminated from the entire state.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has declared that poppy cultivation in the state will be completely eradicated, as his government is committed to saving people from drug addiction.
Singh made the statement while inaugurating the “Agri Horti Expo and Buyer Seller Meet for Organic and Indigenous Products of Manipur” in Imphal. He said that the BJP government in the state will take strict actions against those involved in such plantations.
Poppy plantations are a source of opium. The opium is used to produce drugs such as heroin.
The Manipur chief minister also highlighted that the state has seen massive growth in the export of agricultural products over the past few years.
He also added that the event will create a platform for buyers to get products directly from producer groups and processors.
