Delhi -It is a celebratory mode, India is all set to applaud its achievement of having reached the one billion vaccine target by October 22, 2021. The Narendra Modi government started the process nine months ago. This seems like a baby has been born, finally, bringing in good news and cheer.
To start with, a song composed by singer Kailash Kher will be released today at the Red Fort, by the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya along with an audio-visual film. The meter is counting and the health minister has urged all those who have not got themselves inoculated to quickly do the needful so that they can contribute to the historic vaccination journey of India.
The government also plans to make public announcements on airplanes, ships, metros, and at railway stations when the billionth shot is given. Along with this, the largest khadi tricolor in the country, weighing around 1,400 kg, will be displayed at the Red Fort on Thursday.

An interesting tweet is trending in this context too, Mr. Mandaviya has said, “The country is close to making a vaccine century. To be a part of this golden opportunity, I appeal to the citizens who are yet to be vaccinated to contribute to this historic golden vaccination journey of India by getting vaccinated immediately.”
The flag to be hoisted epitomizes the Indian spirit of Gandhi. It is the largest handwoven and hand-spun cotton khadi flag ever manufactured in India and is the same tricolor with dimensions 225 feet by 150 feet that was unfurled on October 2 – Gandhi Jayanti – in Leh. As of Wednesday (October 20, 2021) morning, the total vaccine doses administered in the country crossed 99.7 crores (997 million) according to the data available at the government’s Cowin portal shortly before 11 pm. Around 75 percent of all adults have received the first dose of the vaccine and 31 per cent have been administered both the doses.
