Canada’s International Drug Racket Busted In Gujarat With ₹50 Lakh Cocaine
In Ahmedabad, the Cyber Crime Cell and Customs Department have stopped a big drug operation with ties to Canada.
This group was using the internet’s dark web and social media to sell drugs in India. Customs officials at Ahmedabad Airport have seized drugs worth around ₹50 lakh. These criminals had a tricky way of delivering drugs.
They seized 2.31 grams of cocaine worth ₹2,31,000 in India and 5.970 kilograms of high-quality international cannabis valued at ₹46,08,015 in the global market. These drugs were hidden in toys and inside the pages of books.
Here’s how they did it! A courier company from Canada and the United States used the dark web and social media to sell drugs concealed in books and toys at parties.
They soaked the book pages with drugs and, after delivering the book, turned those pages into drugs.
The Cyber Unit and Customs Department found a large number of these tampered books and toys. They have also tracked down the drug dealers and buyers. The investigation is ongoing.
Gujarat Police have found a massive drug stash weighing around 80 kilograms, valued at ₹800 crore in the global market, in the coastal area of Kutch on September 29.
Preliminary tests detected it as cocaine, according to Sagar Bagmar, the superintendent of police for Kutch East.
The police discovered the drug packages abandoned near Mithi Rohar village, close to Gandhidham town. It seems the smugglers left them behind, possibly to avoid getting caught because the police were already active in the area.
Back in August, the Border Security Force (BSF) had stopped multiple drug shipments from the Kutch coastline as part of their efforts to fight illegal drug trading.
Earlier, in May, BSF patrols had killed two Pakistani intruders and found three packets of heroin with them. Over the past five years, Gujarat has seen drug seizures worth over ₹30,000 crore.
If you think that Canada was only supplying Khalistani terrorists and separatists to India, you are mistaken. Individual groups or gangs were also involved in smuggling drugs worth millions hidden in toys and books, which they were supplying in India.
