BTS’ Jungkook deletes his Instagram account. Here’s why
BTS member Jungkook, who made his Instagram debut on December 6, 2021, along with the six other members of the boy band – RM, Suga, V, Jin, Jhope, and Jimin – shocked his fans on Tuesday by deleting his personal account on the social media platform.
The singer enjoyed over 52 million followers on Instagram. But he wasn’t very active on the platform and rarely used to upload photos or videos.
After Jungkook’s sudden disappearance, BTS ARMY flooded Twitter with questions and expressed their concerns over the account being possibly hacked.
The ‘Euphoria’ singer soon came on Weverse to reassure his fans that he himself had deleted his personal account as “I wasn’t using it much,” adding “I immediately deleted the app too, and I don’t think I’ll be using it from now on!”
Jungkook will continue to interact with the ARMY via Weverse LIVE.
Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time the BTS member has shocked his fans by bringing a change to his Instagram account. Last year, he left scores of his fans across the world worried by deleting all the photos from his account. He later clarified via VLIVE that he wanted to change the style and aesthetic of his social media.
As soon as Jungkook announced his decision, a number of fans came on Twitter to share photos from his Instagram account and said that he will be missed.

One user commended the singer’s carefree nature, adding “celebrities care so much about their number of followers and likes but there’s Jungkook.”
On the work front, the BTS member was last seen performing at the FIFA World Cup 2023 in Qatar. Part of the international football tournament’s official soundtrack, the song ‘Dreamers’ was released on November 20 and eventually went on to break numerous records. Now the ARMY is eagerly waiting for his solo album ahead of his military enlistment.
