Bollywood actor Asif Basra found dead in Dharamshala, police suspects suicide
Bollywood actor Asif Basra found dead: Asif Basra, known for his performance in Kai Po Che and Outsourced, was found hanging in a rental property in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. SSP of the region, Kangra Vimyukt Tanjan confirmed the information while talking to ANI.
The death of the 53-year-old was confirmed on Thursday. “Film actor Asif Basra was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala. Forensic team is at the spot and police are investigating the matter, says SSP Kangra Vimukt Ranjan.”
The cause of the act is yet to be determined yet. The whole Bollywood community expressed shock over the news. Most of the actors and directors are those who have recently worked with him. ONe of the directors, Hansal Mehta, who gained popularity for its super successful show 1992 scam also tweeted saying,”Asif Basra! Can’t be true… This is just very, very sad (sic).”
Manoj Bajpayee also expressed his shock saying that the two just before the lockdown. “What? This is too shocking!! Shot with him just before Lockdown!!! Oh My God!,” he wrote.
He was famous for his works across the creative and entertainment region, Be it hollywood, where he worked in the movies Outsourced released in 2007 or be it his showcasing acting prowess in critically acclaimed movies like Kai Po Che, where he worked with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He also worked with Rani Mukherjee in her comeback movie Hichki.
The late actor was a theater enthusiast as well. He conducted close to 50 workshops that focused on leadership skill development, communication and team building at the workplace. His last movie was Tashkent Files in 2019 where he was joined by Shweta Basu Prasad, Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty.
