Bhumi Pednekar is over the moon as her latest film Thank You For Coming has crossed the Rs 1 crore mark. It’s a major star for the chick flick as it comes just ahead of India’s first World Cup ODI match tomorrow with Australia.
Thank You For Coming is a sex comedy, in the lines of Masti, Kya Kool, and Golmaal, among others. But it’s a woman centric film, so it can fall in with Double XL starring Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Queshi. Thank You For Coming has Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role, with Shehnaaz Gill, Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, and Shibani Bedi.
Bhumi Pednekar Loves Working With Women
In a recent interview, the National Award winner for Dum Laga Ke Haisha revealed she feels a sense of freedom and equality when working in an all-women set-up. About Thank You For Coming, Bhumi Pednekar said it’s not a typical male vs. female kind of film.
The story revolves around five girl friends. They get together at a family function and talk about their personal lives. They discuss and live, love and relationships. Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor produced Thank You For Coming will make the audience blush and laugh in hysteria. And it does make a statement. It’s all that you crave – saucy, sassy, sexy, emotional, humor, smart one-liners and BOLD.

Bhumi Pednekar said Thank You For Coming is against patriarchy. It comes from a very inclusive space. Whoever has followed our promotional journey knows that this film is not about man vs. woman.” The actress highlighted that orgasm is a metaphor in the film. “Our film is against patriarchy, and patriarchy is not gender specific. It’s a way of thinking. It’s a school of thought people believe in. It is about generational conditioning. The film is about all these things.”
She adds that its very fun and humorous. Bhumi Pednekar guarantees that people will step out of the cinema halls feeling happy. “It conveys a lot of profound things while making you laugh.”
