Ayalaan gets Diwali release date, Sivakarthikeyan set to compete with Dhanush and Karthi
After a year of delay, the makers of Tamil hero Sivakarthikeyan-starrer sci-fi thriller ‘Ayalaan’ have finally announced their release plans. The much-talked-about high-budget entertainer is set to release in theatres on November 12 this year, during the Hindu festival of Diwali.
Ayalaan is directed by Ravikumar R of Indru Netru Naalai 2 fame, with Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet in the lead. Produced by Kotapadi Rajesh, the film’s music has been composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman, with cinematography by Nirav Shah.
The film experienced quite a bit of delay as post-production wasn’t over due to finishing touches in visual effects (VFX) and computer graphics imaging (CGI). Rajesh said the team did not want to compromise on quality and therefore, needed time to achieve perfection.
Ayalaan has the “highest number of CGI shots for a Pan-Indian movie,” the producer said. It will be releasing in theatres across the country in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Kannada.
Nevertheless, its November 12 release has introduced an intense triangular box office clash between Sivakarthikeyan, Dhanush, and Karthi. Both Dhanush’s Captain Miller and Karthi’s Japan are scheduled to release later this year during the Diwali festive season.
