Atishi, Delhi’s New Chief Minister is Ready to Take Oath at Raj Niwas
Atishi, who is AAP leader to be Chief Minister of Delhi, will take her oath on Saturday. The ceremony will take place at 4:30 pm at Raj Niwas, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor.
The candidate chosen by the President of India Droupadi Murmu is Atishi. She also accepted the resignation of previous Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had just resigned from the position. The oath-taking ceremony would be organized by the AAP party because Kejriwal quit.
Atishi will only be Chief Minister for a short time. Delhi will hold fresh elections next February. Atishi and her team have to work fast in this rather short time span. There are several important policies and programs that she has to pass. These include:
1. Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana
2. Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0
3. Doorstep delivery of government services.
She led 13 departments under the Kejriwal government. Finance, revenue, public works, power, and education were the few.
Besides Atishi, five other ministers will also take their oaths. The list includes:
1. Gopal Rai
2. Kailash Gahlot
3. Saurabh Bharadwaj
4. Imran Hussain
5. Mukesh Ahlawat

Rai, Gahlot, Bharadwaj, and Hussain were also ministers in Kejriwal’s government. Ahlawat is a first-timer. He is an MLA from Sultanpur Majra for the first time.
Earlier in the week, members of AAP met and elected Atishi as their new convenor. This is after Kejriwal suddenly quit. This is a challenging time for AAP, and change in leadership will certainly test the waters of preparation to come in anticipation of the next election.
