Assembly Election Results 2023: BJP Leads In Nagaland And Tripura
Here are the live updates of Assembly Election 2023 Results of 3 north-east states. BJP is set to return in Tripura & Nagaland, while NPP is leading in Meghalaya.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is hoping to strengthen its roots in Tripura, a Left bastion that the party conquered in 2018, as the counting of ballots for the assembly elections in Tripura, along with 2 other north-east states – Meghalaya and Nagaland – started on Thursday.
The Left and its allies Congress made a great start in Tripura, but the early trends favor the BJP. After the first round of counting, the chief minister Manik Saha is in the lead in the Town Bardowali seat.
With the traditional enemies Congress and the Left joining forces for the first time to oppose the BJP in the election for the state’s 60-member legislature, Tripura is the one of these three states that is most likely to have a national impact.
By eight in the morning, the votes for Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland were counted. On March 2nd, result trends will begin at 8 am, according to a notice on the Election Commission of India’s website.
EVMs will be counted after postal ballots, which will be picked up for counting first. The election panel’s official website will be updated with the results.
Tripura Election Results 2023
Early results from the postal vote indicate that the Left and its ally, the Congress, are ahead in 15 seats in Tripura, while the governing Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in 39 seats.
The newcomer TIPRA Motha of Pradyot Debbarma, the descendant of the former aristocracy, is in the lead in 5 seats.
Meghalaya Election Results 2023
Early trends indicate that in Meghalaya, the NPP is ahead in 18 seats while the Trinamool Congress is ahead in 12 seats. In 9 seats, the BJP is ahead.
The BJP has run candidates on each of Meghalaya’s 60 seats for the first time. Conrad Sangma, the leader of the National People’s Party (NPP) and CM, was frequently criticized by the BJP for leading the “most corrupt” state government in the nation.
In the state government, BJP was a partner, but they severed connections before the election.
Nagaland Election Results 2023
The NDPP and its associates are in the lead in 50 seats in Nagaland, while the NPF is in the lead in 3 seats. The counting of votes for the assembly elections in the 3 northeastern states started under heavy security.
The Nationalist Democratic Progressive (NDPP) Party-led administration in Nagaland, which had the unusual characteristic of having no opposition because all parties with representation in the assembly’s 60 members backed it, is once more contesting the elections in coalition with the NDPP.
