On Thursday, director-producer Anurag Kashyap responded to an old video of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, shared by one of her fans, saying that he is not her enemy. In the tweet, Queen producer said, “Absolutely she did . She always stood by me . I am not her enemy . You all are . The people who are using her are.”
Kashyap responds to the tweet which shows a video, where in Kangana, in conversation with late actor Irfan Khan, was explaining the one thing which she would like to change in Bollywood. Manikarnikaactress said, “I have to give an example of the latest release, Bombay Velvet. It’s my friend’s movie and it didn’t do well. I have seen this happen a lot. How everyone became so venomous and so evil. It is heartbreaking to an extent that you feel you want to leave this place. I don’t understand how critics and people get so personal,” she says.
Kangana, who in the video defended Kashyap after the failure of his film Bombay Velvet, said that all he wanted to do was to make an honest film. She added in that process “anyone can miss the mark, we all do at some point”.She says, “But what is so frustrating is that everyone is just out to kill one person. This is one thing I would like to change about our industry – they get too personal with comments, gossip and reviews.”

The two got embroiled in war of words, after Kashyap in one of his recent tweets sided with Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhaskar, whom Kangana called B-grade actress on national television and said that he use to be friends with her but he no longer knows “the newKangana.” In a recent interview, Kashyap also confessed that he tried to sort things out between the actresses but Kangana shared the episode on social media. He said, “Taapsee is also a friend and I said that two friends are there and why are they saying things to each other… I called her (Kangana) and asked her and she put the whole conversation on social media and I was just there like a friend trying to sort things out.”
