Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray has hit it where it could hurt the current UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath that ‘religious strife has only increased’ in his leadership.
Mr. Thackeray was addressing the introduction of Shiv Sena candidate Shailedra alias Raju Shrivastav as an “agent of change” in Siddharthnagar district for the Dumariyagang assembly seat. He was also scheduled to address a public meeting in Koraon assembly seat in Prayagraj district, where the party has fielded Arti Kol.
Mr. Thackeray went onto prove the sanctity of religious unity in a secular country like India and that the treatment of farmers was also deplorable by the saffron party. He termed them as ‘Maoists, extremists and terrorists.’
As of now, Shiv Sena had fielded almost 60 candidates in the Uttar Pradesh elections. From Maharashtra, their reign is moving into other parts of India. However, 41 are in fray as the Election Commission had rejected the candidature of 19.
Aditya Thackeray, the minister for Tourism and Environment in the Maharashtra government, regretted that Shiv Sena was part of the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi which he said had committed a string of mistakes. Indeed, BJP is being publicly attacked by them.
He said the people had given an overwhelming mandate to the BJP in 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections and the general elections in 2019.
Further, he has said that the BJP has to be blamed for using central agencies ‘to play tricks’ against politicians during elections as well.
His statement comes after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday arrested Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik in a money-laundering investigation linked to 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Dawood Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has also accused the BJP of misusing the power of central agencies ‘in the name of terrorism’.
