13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Makes IPL History: Bihar’s Cricket Prodigy Bags Rs 1.10 Crore Deal
It is interesting to note that recently a new record maker, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, only 13 years of age, has been purchased by the IPL franchise and has become the youngest cricketer to be bought by any of the IPL franchise. The Rajasthan Royals bought the young talent from Motipur village in Bihar for 1.10 crore during the second day of the IPL mega auction which was a turning point in the life of the young cricketer to lift himself from a small village to the big platform of professional cricket.
Basically, the young cricketer started his career as early as at the 8-year level, getting selected for the U-16 district trials, and displaying massive raw talent that would subsequently help get a look in from IPL suitors. Sanjiv was confident about other age-related issues and said that Vaibhav had already done BCCI bone tests and that he has played for India U-19 to prove that his son is not fake and is a real talent.
The Nadwa Tallawala native was identified as a kind during the Rajasthan Royals’ trials held in Nagpur. Watching the young talent of batting under the supervision of Vikram Rathour, the task was set to score 17 runs in an over which was hit with a lot of brilliance by depositing three balls for sixes. In the trials, he added eight sixes and four fours which proved him to be a potential match-winner.
