YouTube Launches Shorts For All Smart TV Users Globally

After the successful journey of Shorts on web & app version, YouTube has also launched its short format video called ‘Shorts’ globally for TV users, to compete with Tik Tok.

YouTube has begun rolling out the Shorts for TV feature to all of its users around the world. 

The app that competes with Instagram Reels and TikTok, which is a short-form video app, has added a feature that lets users watch trending videos on their phones as well as on a bigger screen.

With the new version of the YouTube app for smart TVs, users will now be able to see the popular vertical videos in the best way possible.

“Shorts will soon be on a TV near you. Starting today, these short flares of video (60 seconds or less) will be available on the big screen at home “Monday night, the company said in a statement.

Users will see a version of a “maximal” proposed design that has been changed in the design that is being rolled out.

“We streamlined the layout of the rightmost rail, but in future releases, we will try to add more features. We think this experience is a good mix of the fun and weirdness of Shorts in a manner that fits TV,” said the Tech company.

In the next few weeks, this interaction will become available on TVs made in 2019 or later and on newly developed game consoles.

Both the short and the Play/Pause keys on the remote control can be used to start and pause the Shorts video.

YouTube Shorts now get 30 billion views a day and are growing at a very fast rate.

YouTube isn’t the first provider to let you watch short form videos or vertical videos on your TV. TikTok has been trying out interfaces for smart TVs for a while now.
