YouTube Allows 4K Resolution To All Users For Free

4K resolution was available only for premium users. But YouTube said that now everyone can watch videos in 4K resolution without any premium costs.

All users will continue to be able to stream 4K content for free on YouTube. It does sound strange, doesn’t it?

In an experiment, YouTube was testing 4K streaming only for Premium subscribers, but it appears to have backfired.

Even if you don’t subscribe to the company’s ad-free plan, 4K viewing on YouTube will continue to be free for everyone, according to the company’s social media account.

We’ve completely switched off this experiment, YouTube responds to a user’s taunt. Now, viewers ought to be able to access 4K resolutions without a Premium subscription.

If you have any additional questions, contact us. Some users during the test saw the “Premium” label next to the 2160p and 4K resolution choices. However, this is no longer an issue and everyone may still access YouTube in 4K for free.

However, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation, YouTube is requesting comments on the test. Therefore, there is a chance that the business will move forward with this proposal.

After all, YouTube wants to look into new strategies to encourage users to sign up for its premium, paid service. Both the UI and video advertising are removed with the Premium membership.

Mobile users who have YouTube Premium can watch videos in the pop-up window as well. Additionally, customers who have a Premium subscription can continue to have videos playing in the background.

The music streaming service YouTube Music is also similarly organized. Anyone can listen to music on the platform for free, but they must put up with the commercials, similar to Spotify.

Additionally, you cannot use any other apps or lock your phone’s display while using YouTube Music in free mode.

The majority of YouTube’s competitors differentiate their service tiers based on image resolution.

For instance, Netflix only offers 1080p resolution on its mid-tier subscriptions; its entry-level plans are limited to 720p quality. The most expensive Netflix plan includes 4K resolution.
