Who will the Indian selector bet on ahead of the South African series?

South Africa -Ahead of the South African series, the Cricket board of India, BCCI, is having a difficult time deciding on the players who will be playing in the series. India is doing extremely well in terms of the test ‘test’ and as per the recent formats results, it is necessary for Team India to perform well this time as well.

Earlier this year India clinched victory against Australia in the Test series which was later on followed by beating the English side in their home by 3-1 in the four test series. The return England test series of course was most difficult for them as not only the bowling line up but the batting line up was also put into rigorous test.

It was leading 2-1 but the series had to be called off because a few of the Indian players were tested positive for Covid-19 increasing the concern of spreading it among others as well. Things are even more special for the team because this year, major players from the team did not contribute much.

Despite Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are the main test players from the team and even now they are not as much involved nor in form as the other players. It was an experimental squad that the selectors had chosen for most of these matches and yet the result was too good.

It is yet another opportunity for the team to establish its dominance in one of the formats like it always does. At the moment when one day and the shortest format are not working for them, it is time that they focus on tests, where they have huge chances to excel in the coming days.

Against the South African series they have the opportunity to send a team that can be experimental and still have enough guidance for them to be guided from the senior or more experienced players.
