Who is Salwan Momika? Reason Behind his recent trending!!

A 38-year Iraqi refugee, Salwan Momika was born in Qaraqosh and he grew up as an Assyrian Catholic. He earned a strong wave of hatred all over the world and his fame began to falter when he burnt the holy book of Islam community in Sweden in 2023. This Quran-burning demonstration took place legally with the permission of the Sweden government’s free speech law. It sparked a series of protests and attacks on the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.
Salwan Shot dead!!
According to the given report by the Associated Press, Salwan Momika was shot dead in his home in Sodertalje a few hours before the verdict in the Stockholm court. Another trustworthy source from the Sweden based The Local states that,
“The shooting took place around 11 pm, and he was live streaming at the time. Five individuals have been detained by the Police who are involved in this case who are yet to identify the details of his injuries. The investigations are still under way to trace out the motive behind the attack”

Early and Later Days of Momika
Momika commenced his career by joining the Assyrian Patriotic Party and proceeded as security guard in Mosul. In 2014, he made himself attached with the PMF (Popular Mobilization Forces), following this in 2017 he shifted to Germany via Schengen Visa and officially announced that he was an atheist by renouncing his faith. He entered Sweden in 2018 as an asylum and received the temporary permission for residence in 2021. Due to the anomalies in his application for the permanent residence has been turned down by the Swedish government in 2024.
