What Are The ₹6,100 Crore Infrastructure Projects In Telangana?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Telangana and laid the foundation stone for significant infrastructure development projects worth approximately ₹6,100 crore in Warangal.
One of the key projects is the establishment of a railway wagon manufacturing unit in Kazipet, which will cost over ₹500 crore.
This facility aims to increase wagon production and contribute to the growth of local businesses and ancillary units in the surrounding areas.
Additionally, the Prime Minister inaugurated 176 kilometers of National Highway (NH) projects in Warangal.
These include the Mancherial-Warangal segment of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Corridor and the upgradation of the Karimnagar-Warangal section of NH-563.
The Mancherial-Warangal section of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Corridor spans 108 kilometers and will reduce the distance between the two cities by approximately 34 kilometers.
This will result in shorter travel times and alleviate congestion on National Highway 44 and NH-65.
The project is estimated to cost ₹3,440 crore and will enhance connectivity between Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and other states, leading to improved economic development in the region.
The Karimnagar-Warangal section of NH-563, spanning 68 kilometers, will be upgraded from two lanes to four lanes.
This will facilitate better connectivity to the Hyderabad-Warangal Industrial Corridor, Kakatiya Uber Material Park, and SEZ at Warangal.
The project is expected to cost ₹2,150 crore and will provide easier access to various historical, religious, and tourist destinations, as well as boost employment opportunities.
During his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of utilizing the current decade as a golden period for progress. He said that India has to ensure that no part of the country lags behind in terms of development.
He also talked about Telangana’s emergence as a hub connecting neighboring economic corridors and emphasized the benefits of this connectivity for industries and tourism in the state.
The ₹6,100 crore worth infrastructure projects initiated by the Prime Minister will enhance connectivity, promote economic growth, and create employment opportunities in Telangana.
The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, mentioned that infrastructure projects worth ₹1.10 lakh crore have been completed, either are in progress, or have been initiated in the state.
