Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah retain their top spot in BCCI contract
Top cricketers Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have retained their places in the A+ contract list of the Board of Cricket Council of India.
On Thursday, the cricketing body released the Annual Player Contracts for team India (Senior Men) for the duration of October 2020 to September 2021.
The contract saw a few upgrades and certain players were also left out of the contract list. For example all rounder hardik Pandya has been promoted to Grade A and the latest edition to the list was youngster Shubham Gill who debuted the contract along with Mohammed Siraj.
As for the top trio, there were no confusions regarding their selection as Virat Kohli captains the Indian Men’s Cricket Team while Rohit Sharma is his deputy in the white ball cricket while Jasprit Bumhra leads the pace attack for the country. The three will be receiving seven crores as per the contract, which is the same as last year’s contract.

One of the reports by the BCCI reveals the payment structures of the players who come under its contract. The payment structure is formed in four divisions, The Grade A+ players earn seven crores while Grade A earn five crore. Grade B and Grade C earn three crore and one crore respectively for the mentioned time period.
This time, a total of 28 cricketers were made part of the central contract in the four categories. The Grade A players saw addition of Hardik Pandya and other than him, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Rishabh Pant, retained theri positions.
As for the Grade B Wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha along with pacer Umesh Yadav were a part of it. Other than them, Shardul Thakur and opener Mayank Agarwal were also placed in the same contract.
A senior official talked to the PTI and said, “Hardik is very much in line to play Test matches in England and will be one of the most important players after our A+ cricketers when we play the T20 World Cup. So Hardik’s promotion is about what he brings to the team. That’s what the selectors have factored in.”
The source also reportedly said that all rounder Kuldeep Yadav is lucky to be a part of the contract after his repeated failure to get back to form. He has been slipping down the list since a long time owing to failure of producing desired results.
Kedhar Jadhav has been dropped out of the list while pacer Buvneshwar Kumar has been dropped to three core list. Rishabh Pant is in Grade A category and in future, it is expected that the player will be a part of Grade A+ contract as per the source,
