UAE Foreign Minister’s Visit to Strengthen India-UAE Strategic Partnership
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is in New Delhi to attend the 4th India-UAE Strategic Dialogue and 15th India-UAE JCM. The latest visit highlights the significance of bilateral relations where both countries want to enhance their comprehensive strategic partnership and search new fields for cooperation in various spheres.
Bilateral meeting is the key factor in promoting the future development of the India- UAE economic cooperation. Both countries have declared a trade target of USD 100 billion for the next five years of trade relations. The talks are expected to address new money methods, which might involve the integration of instant payment systems such as India’s UPI that could further improve the given financial relations.
The meeting also underscores the strengthening of cultural cooperation, during which the sides have agreed to set up a Cultural Council Forum through the signing of the MoU. To this end, there are targeted cooperation activities in wildlife conservation: the MoU between the Wildlife Institute of India and the International Fund for Houbara Conservation to protect endangered species such as the Great Indian Bustard and the Lesser Florican.
This alleges newer links of people-to-people relations with particular regard to the recent visit of the UAE Foreign Minister. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan also appreciated the role of the Indian community in the development of the UAE. In response to this, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar thanked the leadership of UAE for their support to the Indian community.
In the coming months, both countries have decided to have several institutional dialogues focusing on important issues including consular, skills & manpower. Such a commitment indicates that their strategic cooperation is multilateral, and the meetings are aimed at the further development of bilateral cooperation in various spheres, including the economy, community welfare, etc.
