‘Turbanator’ announces retirement from all formats of cricket
Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has announced retirement from all formats of cricket in an emotional social media post.
On Friday, the explosive baller also known as Turbinator said,“All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable. My heartfelt thank you. Grateful.”
He also posted an emotional YouTube video where he stated that he is finally ready to say goodbye to the game that gave him everything. The cricketer has been in the Indian side for 23 years now and earned a lot of fans over the years.
Soon after this retirement, many cricket experts and former cricketers. Cricketers like VVS Laxman and Pragyan Ojha were the first ones to congratulate the cricketer for having a remarkable career as they posted about them on social media.
Former cricketer and commentator, Laxman took to Twitter saying that Singh is a ‘tremendous exponent of off-spin, a gifted batsman and a true competitor’.
Ojha is known to be more close to Singh as the two develop their friendship over years of playing together. He took to social media and said that Singh had a splendid career and the whole country is proud about it. He also wished the spinner best of luck for his future endeavors. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan also thanked the cricketer for his contribution to the team and Indian cricket saying that he has experienced some of the best moments with him during his stint in the Indian squad.
