Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the World’s Largest Meditation Centre ‘Swarved Mahamandir’ in Varanasi. This temple is not just any ordinary structure; it’s a remarkable seven-floor building situated in the Umaraha area, about 12 kilometers from Varanasi’s city center.
What makes it stand out is its enormous size, capable of seating 20,000 people for meditation, making it one of the largest meditation centers in the world.
The Swarved Mahamandir covers an expansive 3,00,000 square feet and its construction, which began in 2004, is a testament to the dedication of 600 workers and 15 engineers.
The temple’s design is breathtaking, featuring teakwood ceilings, doors with intricate carvings, and 101 fountains. It also has beautiful pink sandstone walls and a garden with medicinal herbs, enhancing its grandeur.
An interesting aspect of the Mahamandir is that its walls are inscribed with verses from the Swarveda, a spiritual text written by Sadguru Shri Sadafal Deoji Maharaj, who was an eternal yogi and the founder of Vihangam Yoga. The temple is named after this text and aims to spread its teachings, focusing on Brahm Vidya, a philosophy that promotes peace and happiness.
During the inauguration, PM Modi, along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, took a tour of this impressive structure. The Prime Minister also participated in the centenary celebration of Vihangam Yoga, marking his second visit to the temple, the first being in December 2021.
