The Indian esports market was worth USD 1.5 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow to USD 7.8 billion by 2024.As the industry matures, so does the recruitment process for professional players.
In order to support this, many leagues have started offering salary-based contracts and a fixed number of tournaments per year with clear remuneration for participating in events.
The Indian Esports Federation also offers a standard contract which includes clauses on tournament pay as well as online streaming revenue.
