Sindhu, Prannoy, Srikanth Enter Malaysia Masters Quarterfinals

PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth have successfully entered in the quarterfinal matches of the Malaysia Masters tournament.

Indian senior shuttlers made a strong comeback in the Malaysia Masters tournament held in Kuala Lumpur following their disappointing performance in the Sudirman Cup.

HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth, and PV Sindhu secured victories in their respective matches, advancing to the quarterfinals. However, Lakshya Sen faced defeat in his match.

Prannoy’s impressive performance saw him defeat China’s Li Shi Feng, the reigning All England champion. Prannoy lost the first game but made a strong comeback, winning the next two games convincingly with scores of 13-21, 21-16, 21-11.

He showcased excellent precision and aggression in his shots, hitting the lines consistently. Prannoy mentioned that he had to push his opponent to the limit to secure the victory.

In the quarterfinals, Prannoy will face Kenta Nishimoto of Japan, who holds a 2-0 win-loss record against the Indian.

Srikanth also displayed his skill and resilience by defeating Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the silver medalist at the World Championships and India Open champion. He had to rally from significant deficits in both games.

Srikanth triumphed with scores of 21-19, 21-19 after coming back from 6-0, 10-4, and 14-10 deficits in the first game, and a 13-18 deficit in the second game. He is expected to have an easier outing in the quarterfinals against Indonesian qualifier Christian Adinata.

PV Sindhu, the reigning Olympic champion, continued her dominance over Aya Ohori of Japan, securing her seventh consecutive victory against the Japanese player. Sindhu won comfortably with scores of 21-16, 21-11.

However, her upcoming match against China’s Zhang Yi Man will be a tough challenge as Zhang holds a 2-1 head-to-head advantage over Sindhu, including a victory at the All England tournament in March.

While Prannoy, Srikanth, and Sindhu advanced to the quarterfinals with impressive performances, Lakshya Sen faced defeat against Ng Ka Long Angus of Hong Kong with scores of 14-21, 19-21.

The Indian shuttlers demonstrated their skills and determination at the international level, and fans are eagerly waiting & predicting their performances in the upcoming quarter final matches of the Malaysia Masters.
