The seizure of the AIADMK’ (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party caused quite a stir today in Chennai. 

Following the High Court’s ruling, Panneerselvam supporters erupted in a commotion ahead of the party’s general council meeting, led by E. Palaniswami. However, in the subsequent meeting, Palaniswami was chosen to lead AIADMK. 

At the general council meeting of the party held in Vanagaram, Edappadi K. Palaniswami was chosen to serve as interim general secretary.

The Madras High Court has approved today’s AIADMK General Council meeting. Panneerselvam’s request for a postponement of the meeting, which would eliminate the coordinator and joint coordinator positions and reinstall the position of interim general secretary.

Following that, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the head of the AIADMK, departed from his home to attend the party’s General Council meeting. 

On the way, a sizable group of party members gathered to welcome him. For the party’s General Council meeting, Edappadi K. Palaniswami enters at the party office in Vananagram. 

Supporters of Panneerselvam, however, demonstrated against Edappadi K. Prior to the party’s General Council meeting, the door to the AIADMK office was shattered.

In the meantime, the AIADMK General Council adopted a resolution at the meeting to end the party’s dual leadership and establish the position of Deputy General Secretary. 

The General Council has adopted a resolution to reestablish the General Secretary position and to ensure that the party’s primary members elect one individual to the position. 4 months will pass before the election.

A resolution demanding the Bharat Ratna for Periyar, MG Ramachandran (MGR), and J Jayalalithaa was approved by the AIADMK general council. 

16 motions are anticipated to be adopted during the E. Palaniswami-presiding AIADMK General Council meeting.

On the other hand, senior AIADMK politician KP Munusamy claimed on Saturday that party treasurer O.Paneerselvam had formed a strong relationship with the ruling DMK and that no current evidence of such a relationship exists. 

Panneerselvam, according to Munusamy, favors the DMK administration and will alienate people if he sings their praises.
