Senior BJP Leader Vinod Tawde is alleged of cash distribution in Virar
Senior BJP leader with more than 40 years of experience in politics who is also the National General Secretary of BJP, Vinod Tawde and the BJP candidate Rajan Naik is charged with an FIR for distributing the cash to the voters in Palghar district. They were alleged by the workers of BVP (Bahujan Vikas Aghadi) on November 19, 2024 at a hotel.
They have also recovered a diary in which the details of distribution of Rs.15 crore and a bag with cash along with the BJP leader Vinod Tawde who was caught on the hop. Vasai-Virar is a highly competitive assembly seat between BJP and BVP. The supporters and leaders of BVP stratified their allegations against Vinod which is completely disagreed by the leaders of BJP and argue that there is a political motive behind this.
Officially, the Election Commission has recovered Rs.9.93 lakh from the hotel room.
Thakur’s Claim
The BVP MLA Hitendra Thakur, accused that Vinod Tawde has arrived with Rs.5 crore. Meanwhile, another MLA of BVP from Nalasopara, Kshitji caught Tawde and grabbed the diary with the cash distribution details.
“Action should be taken against the hotel as well. The only reason why CCTV was closed down was that distribution of money was going on” said Thakur.
“I have come here to take the darshan of Goddess Tulja Bhavani. When I came here my bags were checked but they found nothing. I got to know from the media that cash was found in the bags of Vinod Tawde. Yesterday there was an attack on NCP leader Anil Deshmukh… Who was supposed to check all this? Response of BJP and alleged Vinod Tawde
“Vinod Tawde is a national general secretary. Is he going to distribute money at ward levels? Such claims are absurd.” – Senior BJP leader, Sudhir Mungantiwar
“Let the Election Commission and the police inquire, let them get CCTV footage. I have been at the party for 40 years. Appa Thakur and Kshitij know me, and the entire party knows me… still, the election commission should conduct an impartial investigation” said the accused Vinod Tawde for cash-for-vote in Maharashtra Assembly.
