Security concerns for iPhone users, crypto hackers aim to crack the software

Tamilnadu -iPhone phone users are warned to beware of the Crypto hackers who are trying to get through their phones by snooping through dating applications like Tinder, Bumble, and more.

People who are using dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble, Grindr on their iPhone devices have questionable safety as per a cyber security solutions company called Sophos. They have projected an international cryptocurrency scam that is supposedly going to target millions of dollars from people’s devices.

A report revealed that a scam on such a level is majorly surrounded by the social engineering of the prospects.

A senior threat researcher at Sophos Jagadeesh Chandraiah said, “First, the attackers post convincing fake profiles on legitimate dating sites. Once they’ve made contact with a target, the attackers suggest continuing the conversation on a messaging platform.”

The group then stages an act that persuades them to install and invest in a fake cryptocurrency trading application. They are scammed in such a way that they are promised to gain a lot of money but when the user tries to withdraw the amount or talk to the helpline, they are straight away refused for that.

As per the early level of a probe into the matter, they are making millions of dollars with this scam. They are also making iPhone users their victims. They target a system of software for selected iPhone users and follow it by helping the organizations pre-test new iOS applications.

Those who are using fake crypto trading applications on their phones are easily convinced by the fake calls of the people leading the scams. This is done by the functionality of the Enterprise Signature system which targets users’ devices and gains remote control of their devices.

They are also preaching on privacy laws and getting access to private information. This extends to adding and removing their accounts on the devices and also using their device for other purposes which are a threat to the security of an individual.

Chandraiah also asserted that the criminal operators are distributing these fake crypto applications through fake websites and people are easily convinced due to stark resemblance with their tested banks or Apple app store. He also advised people that if they come across something that is risky and seems too good to be true then there are high chances that you are being cheated into it.
