Despite widespread rumours that Samantha Ruth Prabhu might fail to participate in the Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel’ by the director duo Russo Brothers – best known for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ – due to her ongoing treatment for autoimmune disease myositis, the prominent Indian actress and model is fully committed and working hard on the project.
While the global version of the series stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Samantha is currently filming the Indian version with Varun Dhawan.
The latter is being directed by Raj and DK, an Indian filmmaking duo best known for their work on the spy thriller show ‘The Family Man’ as well as the black comedy crime thriller TV series ‘Farzi’.
In a recent photo Samantha shared on Instagram, the actress appears to have sustained injuries during the shoot. She humorously captioned the picture showing her injured hands “perks of action”.
Co-actor Varun has also shared a photo of himself with a bloodied forehead, describing it as a “rough night” in the caption.
According to sources familiar with the project, Samantha will be performing a number of action sequences in the web series and the makers have used the help of a prominent Hollywood action director for the much-needed martial arts training.
A handful of days back, the actress also shared a video of herself practicing tough action scenes and nailing punches with stunt performer and action director Yannick Ben as she prepares for the action shoot in Uttarakhand’s Nainital in eight degrees Celsius.
‘Citadel’ is a high-budget spy universe series. It will have multiple spin-offs in several countries across the world, including India.
