Sachin Tendulkar says “it is an only on-field performance that matters”

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar said that it is only the on-field performance that matters and nothing else. The background of a person or anything else does not matter and it is only the on-field show that matters.

He talked to PTI and said, “Every time we enter the dressing room, it really doesn’t matter where you came from, which part of the country and where you belong. It was a level field for everyone.”

This is especially a big deal as the son of the former cricketer, Arjun Tendulkar, was bashed on social media after he was selected by the Mumbai Indians during the Indian Premier League auctions. The cricketer added that sports do not recognize anything other than one’s performance on the field.

Tendulkar talked to the PTI while he was being named as the brand ambassador of an e-learning platforming ‘Unacademy’. He used the platform to spread the idea of sports unifying people irrespective of their backgrounds and class or anything that creates borders between people.

The 47-year old said that when you are on the field, it is more about your contribution to the team and that is all that matters. One of the most celebrated cricketers will be using the platform of the e-learning application to share his experience and knowledge about sports and life in general.

He added that his experience will be shared through the platform and children will get to learn from my experience as the cricketer himself has been part of different schools and trained with different coaches throughout his cricketing career. “We will be conducting classes free of cost, so I think we wanted this platform to be accessible to anyone and everyone,” the batsman, the record-making-breaking batsman said.

Other than this, the cricketer also advises students stay focused on their goals and keep making extra effort if necessary. Students should never give up on their goal and stay adamant on achieving them, he added.

He further said that we should continue to chase our dreams as they do come true. He motivated them by saying that sometimes we may feel that it is the dead end and there is nothing we can do but we should not give up as it is never a dead end so keep taking extra steps towards your goal.

He shared an emotional moment as he remembered his late father Ramesh Tendulkar, who was also a professor as he had chased his dream of imparting education to students and for that he came to Mumbai.
