RTO is soon coming up with a learner’s license test on mobile and computer

Now forget about standing in a line for a driving test at an RTO office. India is going to start an exceptional change in the issuance of a driving license from July 1.

According to the new guidelines reported by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), a candidate can acquire a driving license without stepping for a driving test at the RTO. However, the person needs to go through training in driving at a certified driving school. 

Ahmadabad, Pune, and a lot more states are soon going to start online tests for learners’ licenses. Some of the state governments such as Delhi and Maharashtra have already begun online driving tests for learning licenses. Under the online method, the Delhi transport office had the option to clear 64% of the 77,421 online applicants between February 18 and March 30. 

Getting a learner’s driving license in Uttar Pradesh is likely to become easier from July with the state transport division deciding to move the whole process, including application submission, verification, driving test, and also getting the license online. It is going to save the time of visiting the local vehicle workplaces (RTOs) and lessening footfall at the office.

“The candidates will be needed to submit their Aadhaar card details online, after which RTO will verify their credentials like age, photograph, address, and so on”, officials stated.

Around 3,000,000 learners’ licenses are issued in Uttar Pradesh and the new Aadhaar-validated system to award learning driving licenses is part of the state.

From the month of August, Ahmadabad candidates for learners licenses won’t have to go to the Regional Transport Office or any center for the test. The RTO has decided to allow candidates to take the test on a mobile or computer. 

The department has likewise decided to conduct driving tests from 6.00 am till 10.30 pm. Driving tests online will be on a special track in two shifts. As per RTO officials around 450 licenses for two-wheelers, cars, and heavy vehicles are issued daily in Ahmadabad. 

The additional chief secretary to the chief minister who holds the additional charge of ports and transport, Manoj Kumar Das stated, “We have asked the National Informatics Center (NIC) to foster the product for a test on PCs and mobile phones.” 

The latest technology will help reduce the footfall at the RTO office amid the coronavirus pandemic and maintaining the standard safety protocols as well.
