Rimac Nevera R Debuts As the World’s Fastest Production Electric Hypercar with top speed 217 mph: Reports
Rimac, the Croatian Electric Vehicle manufacturer that ascended from a garage to become a supercar and technology powerhouse has merged with French car manufacturer Bugatti and has upgraded its Nevera hypercar. And along the way, Rimac has managed to add more fuel and power into it.
During The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering at Monterey Car Week, the Nevera R was revealed by Rimac. The features of this car, it produces a 2107 amount of raw horsepower, can reach a top speed of 217 miles an hour or even 256 miles an hour under Rimac Oversight. It can gear up from 0 to 60 mph in 1.74 seconds.
The specs seem to appear to support Rimac’s goal for the R that stands for radical, rebellious and relentless. The Nevera R’s larger wheels in the rear, extremely low noise, high rear fixed wing and carbon fibre structure makes it a package for what a hypercar should stand for.
The new EV is designed by Rimac Automobili founder Mate Rimac who explained in a call prior to the reveal that the new car is equipped with four electric motors, advanced ceramic brakes, a new 108 kilowatt hour battery backup pack, new Michelin Pilot Cup tires, and all wheel torque vectoring, that is made for vectoring.
The CEO said, “Nobody missed power in the Nevera. But we decided to, you know, squeeze a little bit more out so that we could still get out of the car. And of course gave it a more aggressive, even more interesting design than before.”
The EV manufacturer will only produce 40 units of Rimac Nevera R units having a base price of 2.3 million pounds or $2.5 million in today’s exchange rate.
Compared to the original Nevera consist of the two seater that produces 1914 horsepower and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 1.85 seconds and has a top speed of 285 mph. Rimac began production of the Nevera from 2022 pricing it at $2.5 million dollars, making it faster than any production car on the planet.

Apart from producing these high speed cars, it also created a subsidiary in 2021 that supplied tech goods to automakers such as Porsche and Hyundai. That same year, Rimac announced a merger with Bugatti, the supercar maker.
Rimac has a far more complex structure. Bugatti-Rimac makes combustion, electric and hybrid hypercars and has a 55 percent share held by Rimac while 45 percent is taken by Porsche.
