Richa Chadha receives death threats after releasing the trailer of Madam chief minister
Madam chief minister: Richa Chadha is a Hindi movie actor who is known for her acting prowess and versatility but this time the actor is making news for being centre of attacks for doing a movie called ‘madam chief minister’.
In a recent address with the media, Richa Chadha was informed about a person making threats against the actor soon after the release of the trailer. The Akhil Bhartiya Bhim Sena, Nawab Satpal Tanwar has been targeting the cator by giving her death threats. Tanwar has continually been uploading videos on social media and instigating hate and violence ahead of the film’s release.
But the matter got worse when he threatened the 34-year-old actor of chopping her tongue off and is also rewarding the person who does it. Despite the threats, Chadha is standing strongly against all the threats and even said that she is not scared of anyone.
The controversy majorly emerged after the release of the first poster of the film, which was accused of stereotyping the Dalit community. In the poster, a banned word, Untouchable, was used and also showed Chadha carrying a broom. The poster was then taken down and the film individuals also made it clear that they had no intentions in hurting sentiments of anyone.
Swara Bhaskar, also a Hindi movie actor, came forward to extend her support to the actor. She said, “This is absolutely shameful and to be condemned in no uncertain terms. You can have ideological issues and problems with a film but this is criminal intimidation and incitement to violence. Ambedkarites, Dalit feminists and just sane people- stand up and call this out!”
After the release of the trailer of the much awaited movie, it was gathered that the film deals with caste and gender related issues. It was told by the filmmaker that the story of the movie involves the journey of a young woman, who rises to power in the world of politics by challenging the persisting problems such patriarchy and casteism
