JWD is said to be spread over an area of 17.5 acres and it will be Mumbai’s first rooftop Jio drive-in Theatre that will be operated by PVR and can hold up to 290 cars. Not only this but the mall will also house all the premium international and Indian brands.
Darshan Mehta, who is the CEO of Reliance Brands mentioned that with the opening of Jio World Drive, Bandra Kurla Complex is poised to be the new social centre of gravity in Mumbai. The precinct will set a new benchmark for curated experiences that one can expect from such retail avenues from across the globe, in the heart of Mumbai. Iconic offerings like the upcoming Jio Drive-in theatre will make this a must- visit destination.
It should be noted that last year Facebook Inc had invested Rs 43,574 crore giving the social media giant as much as 9.99% stake in Reliance Jio. Although, of the total investment, Rs 14,976 crore will be retained at Jio Platforms to drive future growth, including the JioMart shopping platform on WhatsApp and FB.
Furthermore, JWD is said to have 72 international and Indian brands, 27 culinary outlets with cuisines from across the globe. It is designed to provide an open-air weekend community market and pet-friendly services.
Mehta added by saying that their research stands as a nebula which shows people’s willingness to step out for unique experiences, in places that are likely to provide more than one sensory experience and with people they love and that is exactly what Reliance aim to provide now.
Meanwhile, after the deal with future Growth Retail went south Reliance Industries step up to secure the deal for international convenience store chain, 7/11. Bringing the international chain to India will benefit both the business to enlarge their presence and provide customers with products of premium quality. The deal is secured and finalized but the details of store outlet and mapping is yet to be done.
