Punjab Polls 2022: Security On Alert After Sikhs For Justice Founder Calls For ‘Rail-Punjab Bandh’ Today

Punjab -The intelligence agencies on Saturday issued a nationwide security alert because Punjab is set to go for polling on Sunday.

The agencies sounded the alert because of the video of the most-wanted terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who is the founder of the pro-Khalistan outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). Pannun issued a video on Facebook and called for a ‘Rail Punjab Bandh’ on February 19. Voting for Punjab’s 117-member assembly will take place in a single phase on February 20.

According to India Today, in the video, Pannun asked his followers to install “Kesri Khalistan” flags at polling stations in various cities of Punjab. He also asked his followers to shout slogans of “Khalistan Zindabad” on February 20, the day of the election.

He also alleged the recent death of Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu was a “political murder”. He revealed that the actor was a “true follower” of Jarnail Singh Bhrindanwale and always supported the demand for a separate Khalistan. He asked his followers to avenge his death.
