As per the latest research, if you breathe in polluted air, the tiny hazardous particles can flow from your lungs to your brain that may cause neurological damage.
According to a recent study, breathing polluted air can lead to dangerous particles traveling from the lungs to the brain.

The research was carried out by a group of specialists from the University of Birmingham alongside Chinese research facilities, and the findings were released in Publications of the National Academy of Sciences.
As per the report, the dangerous particles enter the bloodstream where they may cause neurological damage and brain diseases.
Scientists have discovered a potential direct path that many ingested small particles may have taken.
These poisons, as was previously said, enter the bloodstream, where there is evidence that they last longer in the brain than in other important metabolic organs.
A mechanism that could result in harmful particulate chemicals entering the brain was shown by the researchers’ discovery of numerous microscopic particles in humans CSF fluids taken from people with brain problems.
University of Birmingham professor and co-author Iseult Lynch stated,
“We still don’t fully comprehend the damaging effects of airborne tiny pollutants on our central nervous system.
Our knowledge of the connection between breathing in particles with their subsequent transportation throughout the body is improved by this research.
New evidence on the connection between air pollution and the negative impacts of such pollutants on the brain is provided by the results.
It suggests that up to eight times more tiny particles may enter the brain by flow from human lungs than from the nose.”
