Poll strategist Prashant Kishore proposes Congress revival plan, the party holds meetings to discuss modus operandi

Poll strategist Prashant Kishore has proposed a revival plan for Congress party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party leadership is holding meetings to discuss the plan of action proposed keeping in mind the “reform and revival” agenda of Congress party.
Earlier this month on July 13, Kishore had met with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and submitted the plan blueprint with them that is in consideration during meetings now. He also had one meeting before that with Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Exact details of the blueprint are not being disclosed by party members, but one member shared that Kishore wants an in the inner circle of party. He also wants to get actively involved in election strategy, coordination, management and alliances.
Another Congress leader said, “It is a big laundry list on how to revive the Congress and everything. And then Kishor wants to formally come into the party… The discussions are on that and how to take it forward. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been the driving force.”

It is revealed from sources that one of Kishore’s key proposed strategy includes setting up of an empowered group that will take all the key decisions to make committees in state and district strong. “The basic thing is how to have an effective election mechanism right from the polling booth level… These are proposals. Some the party is already doing,” a leader said.
AICC general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal and senior leader A K Antony are coordinating multiple meetings that are being held at the party’s war room at 15, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj. The first meeting of the series was attended by senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, P Chidambaram, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, and AICC general secretary (administration) Pawan Kumar Bansal.
The second meeting was reportedly attended by Congress deputy leader in Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma, AICC general secretary Harish Rawat, Kamal Nath, Raghuveer Meena and Ambika Soni. The third meeting had Priyanka, Digvijaya Singh, Tariq Anwar and Jairam Ramesh in attendance.
