PM To Unveil Legendary Freedom Fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju’s Statue

Alluri Sitarama Raju was recently portrayed in the RRR movie. PM Modi is going to unveil a 30-feet bronze statue of this great Indian freedom fighter today.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed for Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, to attend the 125th birthday celebrations of independence warrior Alluri Sitarama Raju.
At the event, PM Modi will also formally unveil a 30-foot-tall bronze statue of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju.
PM Modi Tweeted,
“Leaving for Bhimavaram to attend a very special programme- the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of the great freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju.
Will also unveil a bronze statue of Alluri Sitarama Raju. This will enhance the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.”
The 125th birth anniversary commemoration of illustrious freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju will begin in Bhimavaram at around 11 a.m., as per the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Who Was Alluri Sitarama Raju?
Alluri Sitarama Raju, who was born on July 4, 1897, is famous for his battle against the British to defend the rights of the indigenous inhabitants in the Eastern Ghats.
He had been an Indian legendary freedom fighter and the leader of the 1922 Rampa rebellion. The locals refer to him as “Manyam Veerudu” (Hero of the Jungles).

The character of Alluri Sitarama Raju was recently portrayed in the SS Rajamouli’s film RRR. Ram Charan has played his character in the movie.
Alluri Sitarama Raju’s Birth Anniversary Celebration
There will be a year-long celebration, and the government has scheduled a number of activities to mark the occasion.
As part of the celebrations for the centennial of the Rampa Rebellion, repairs will be made to the Chintapalli Police Station and the Pandrangi house where Alluri Sitarama Raju was born in the Vizianagaram district.
AI Powered – Alluri Dhyana Mandir
The building of the Alluri Dhyana Mandir at Mogallu, which will include a monument of Alluri Sitarama Raju in the Dhyana Mudra.
It will depict the life of the freedom fighter through interactive systems powered by artificial intelligence (AI), and has also received government approval.
Later on in the day, PM Modi will travel to Gandhinagar, Gujarat, where he will officially launch the inaugural Digital India Week 2022, with the theme “Catalyzing New India’s Techade.”
