PM Modi Unveils ‘Ashok Stambh’ On Roof Of New Parliament Building

India is going to get a new Parliament House building very soon as its construction is going very fast. Today PM Modi inaugurated India’s National Emblem on its roof.

The Ashoka Stambh, which stands 6.5 meters tall, was constructed on the roof of Parliament House’s newest structure. PM Narendra Modi gave it a formal official opening on Monday.

Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla was among the Union ministers in attendance. This bronze Ashoka Stambh is meant to be seen from a distance. 

The Inauguration of Ashok Stambh

At the inauguration of the Ashoka Stambh, PM Narendra Modi also spoke with the employees involved in the construction of the new Parliament building.

PM Narendra Modi was seen standing close to the Ashoka Stambh after it was dedicated and posing for photos there.

Harivansh Rai, the deputy chairman of the Rajya Sabha, and Hardeep Singh Puri, the minister for urban development for the Union, were also there.

The Construction Of Ashoka Stambh

The construction of this Ashoka Stambh, according to Central Public Works Department officials, took nine months.

It has gone through eight phases of preparation, which include idea sketches, clay modeling, and computer graphics.

These were fixed on the roof, assembled, and then installed. They were put together beginning at the end of April. It took roughly two months.

The Structure Of Ashoka Stambh

The official stated that it has a framework that weighs 9,500 kg and thus is 4.4 meters broad. It is situated in the center of the new Parliament House building’s roof.

In addition, a support structure made of steel weighing 6500 kg has been prepared. 150 separate pieces made up the Ashoka Stambh.
