Modi will join the 15,000 yoga practitioners who will take part in the event. Because of the pandemic, the program is now being held physically after a 2 yr hiatus.
On June 21, the International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead a large-scale yoga session on the grounds of Mysore Palace in Karnataka, the Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced on Friday.
According to Sonowal, Modi will join the 15,000 yoga practitioners who will take part in the event.
After a two-year hiatus brought on by the coronavirus epidemic, the program is now being held physically.
According to Sonowal, who was speaking to the media, the theme for this year’s International Day of Yoga celebrations is – “Yoga for Humanity.”
Approximately 25 crore people from all over the world are anticipated to participate in different events by practicing yoga together in order to improve everyone’s health and wellness.
On May 6, the prime minister sent a letter in Hindi to every ‘sarpanch’ or ‘gram-pradhan’ to assure the large-scale celebrations of Yoga Day.
According to Sonowal, the ayush secretary has asked all the chief secretaries of the states and Union territories to arrange for a translation of the PM’s letter into the local or regional language of each state and have it given to ‘gram-pradhans’ through the district collectors.
The panchayati raj ministry sent an SMS with a link to the letter to the gram pradhans, he added.
According to Sonowal, a flagship program is being planned in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs for a global yoga protocol on IDY 2022 that would follow the path of the Sun.
“The program will start at 3 AM IST and go till 10 PM. It will begin in Fiji, Brisbane, Australia, and New Zealand, and culminate in Toronto, Canada and San Francisco, USA,” he said.
“With the unwavering backing of Indian missions overseas, 79 countries and UN organizations have joined the initiative. According to Sonowal, the show would be broadcast live across 16 time zones on DD India.
The minister said that 75 famous places would host large-scale Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) demonstrations, promoting and exhibiting India through IDY events.
The “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” would include this program. On June 21 and 22, a digital installation in Dasara Ground, Mysuru, as part of the program, will present a “state of the art” advancement in yoga.
Anyone may digitally practice yoga with animated movies of the PM and snap a virtual selfie with the PM thanks to another interactive function that is offered.
Additionally, a person’s degree of focus may be assessed using an interactive interface. A static display featuring every aspect of Ayush as well as a yoga start-up are also planned, the minister added.
