PM Modi Meets Top Tech CEOs in New York
The meeting of the year was held on 23 September 2024 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a massive meeting of important technology company CEOs in New York. The meeting was about the new technology and how India can contribute to such companies.
The meeting occurred at the hotel in New York when Modi was on his three-nation tour of the United States of America. This was created by the MIT School of Engineering to help students and educators.
A few of the leading personalities in the industry were also present at the meeting. Some of them were:
- Sundar Pichai from Google
- Jensen Huang from Nvidia
- Shantanu Narayen from Adobe
They talked about new technologies like:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Quantum computing
- Semiconductors
- Biotechnology
After this meeting, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi had posted on social media that it was a fruitful meeting. He said he was glad that the tech leaders were positive about India.
New technologies are being developed to assist people around the globe, and the Indian government said the meeting was about how those technologies will be used, including in India.
Modi said to the heads of the IT companies that India wishes to utilize AI for the sake of all. He stated that India will ensure that artificial intelligence is utilized for the right causes and in the right manner.
He also assured the people of India that it will safeguard the ideas and inventions of these companies. They were urged to invest in India, with Modi stating that the country could be the world’s third-largest economy within a decade.
It also elaborated on how these companies could support the funding of Indian startups. Some of the respondents viewed entrepreneurship as a tactical approach for American firms to penetrate the Indian markets and create innovative solutions.
The initial meeting was chaired by Professor Anantha Chandrakasan from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He briefly thanked Modi and the tech leaders for coming. He stated that MIT will go on conducting research and innovation in the technology field to improve people’s lives and strengthen the partnership between the United States and India in key technology areas.
This meeting demonstrates that India is not afraid to move up as a contender in the world of technology. It also proves that large technology firms are keen on what India has to present.
