PM Modi Inaugurates Advantage Assam 2.0 | ₹1.22 Lakh Crore Investments Cleared

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, which was held in Guwahati. The summit aims to boost innovation and sustainable development in the state.
PM Modi arrived in Assam a day earlier and visited exhibitions showcasing investment opportunities. He will officially inaugurate the two-day summit, which has drawn top business leaders and government representatives.
Key Highlights from the PM Modi’s Visit to Assam:
Major Investments: The Assam Cabinet has already approved ₹1.22 lakh crore in investment proposals ahead of the summit. More deals are expected during the event.
Top Business Leaders Attending the event: N Chandrasekaran, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, Sajjan Jindal, Prashant Ruia, Anil Agarwal, and Anil Kumar Chalamalasetty are part of the discussions so this indicates the growing focus in eastern India.
Global Participation: High-level delegations from Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Bhutan, and Japan are attending.
Union Ministers Present: S Jaishankar, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Sarbananda Sonowal, and Pabitra Margherita are attending in person, while Nitin Gadkari will address a session virtually.
The summit includes 20 thematic sessions covering key growth sectors. Assam has also updated its biotechnology and textile & apparel policies to attract more investors.
To promote investment the Assam government conducted roadshows in major Indian cities and internationally, including the UK, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bhutan, and the UAE. CM Sarma personally led delegations to Bhutan, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.
With global interest and major investment commitments, Advantage Assam 2.0 is set to play a crucial role in shaping the state’s economic future.
