After 14 Years Barefoot, Man Meets PM Modi and Receives Shoes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Rampal Kashyap. Rampal Kashyap is from Kaithal, Haryana he had made a unique vow 14 years ago. He promised not to wear footwear until Narendra Modi became Prime Minister and he got to meet him in person.
On Monday, during a public event in Yamunanagar, PM Modi met Rampal and personally made him wear shoes. He gently advised him not to make such vows again.
“I’m making you wear shoes today, but don’t ever do this again. You should focus on work — why cause pain to yourself?” PM Modi said during the interaction.
Rampal Kashyap expressed his joy and said it was a proud moment to meet the Prime Minister after such a long wait.
Later, PM Modi shared a video and message on social media platform X. “I am touched by the affection of people like Rampal ji. But I urge everyone not to take such vows. Instead, direct your energy toward social work and nation building,” he wrote.
During his visit to Haryana, PM Modi launched several development projects. These include the foundation stone for an 800 MW power plant and a compressed biogas plant in Yamunanagar. He also laid the foundation stone for the new terminal at Hisar Airport, worth over ₹410 crore.
PM Modi addressed people in Hisar and greeted them on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. He remembered Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s teachings and said his government is working every day to fulfill Babasaheb’s dream of uplifting the poor and the disadvantaged.
He also recalled his time working in Haryana and praised the people for their strength, unity, and contribution to the nation’s progress.
