Pitru Paksha 2022: Here Is The List of Shradh Dates & Significance
Pitru Paksha 2022 has begun on 10th Sep & end on 25th September this year. Pitru Paksha rituals help ancestors’ souls to attain moksha or salvation.
On Anant Chaturdashi, after Ganapati Visarjan, the 15-day Pitru Paksha or Shradh period begins.
Hinduism states that it begins on the Shukla Paksha’s Purnima Tithi in the month of Bhadrapada and finishes on the Krishna Paksha’s Amavasya Tithi.
The Shraadh ceremonies for the elders and all those who have passed away are performed during the Pitru Paksha period.
The departed spirits of our ancestors are thought to find peace through food offerings and Tarpan, showering their blessings on the family.

According to accreditation, the Shradh rituals assist the ancestors in achieving moksha, or salvation.
Dates of Pitru Paksha or Shradh 2022
The Pitru Paksha of this year will begin on Saturday, 10th September, 2022, and close on Sunday, 25th September, 2022.
Lunar cycles determine the Pitru Paksha dates. Shradhs begin on the full moon (Poornima), according to the Hindu calendar, and terminate on the new moon (Amavasya).
According to the Hindu calendar, the Shradh Paksha begins on Shukla Paksha, Purnima of Bhadrapada month and finishes on Krishna Paksha Amavasya of Aswin month.

Significance of Pitru Paksha 2022
According to Hindu religion, the souls of our ancestors reside in Pitru Loka and during Pitru Paksha, they descend on earth.
