Parliament Announces Winter Session Amidst Mass Covid-19 Infection In Premises

New Delhi -Amidst the announcement for the Winter session on January 31, more than 400 Parliamentary staff members have been tested positive in January’s first week. This has prompted some medical checking and hygiene inspections to be put in place for the rest of the lot.

The sudden spurt and then resulting infections within the Parliamentary premises just shows the lack of preparedness and carelessness amongst the working lot. It is only then, that this week, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla could inspect the Parliament House Complex (PHC) to take stock of the health safety-related measures and other preparations. Mr. Birla, it is said, directed officials to take special care of MPs above the age of sixty years and attend to their requirements in a proactive manner.
