Pakistan Had Plans Of Instigating Farmers On Protest In India: Intel

Last updated on June 28th, 2021 at 03:58 am

Intelligence agencies in India have alerted authorities that Pakistan led ISI has intentions of instigating the farmers against the security personnel deployed at the borders. This information has been particularly shared with Delhi Police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

Earlier on, the ISI had also backed up pro-Khalistani groups that were trying to re-establish themselves in India through the farmers’ protest. The sources had said that Khalistani groups, especially Sikh For Justice (SFJ) might also carry out attacks in India.

Since the intel was shared, the various authorities have beefed up security outside metro stations and across the National Capital region.  Amidst the farmer agitation, internet access was also limited in January. Twitter had been asked to pull down accounts that were promoting anti-government slogans and malicious information about violence against farmer agitations.

At that time it was discovered that nearly 308 twitter accounts had been generated from fictitious entities in Pakistan itself. Farmers have been protesting against the Centre’s three farm laws for close to seven months now. Despite the requests of Union Minister for Agriculture, Narendra Singh Tomar, farmer protests continue to rock the borders of Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.

Intel has informed that disturbance might be created through proxies of the ISI. Three metro stations remained shut throughout the agitation that was carried out in several spots. Police had to resort to water cannons in Chandigarh and Punjab.  Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of 40 farmer unions protesting at various Delhi border points, claimed that farmers were detained in states like Haryana, Punjab, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana during the protests.

Farmers from Haryana and Punjab marched down to the Governor’s office and submitted memorandums to officials from the Governor House before returning home. Nothing concrete has come off the rallies so far. No causalities were reported either.
