Pakistan Faces Huge Power, Telecom, Internet & Economy Crisis

Our neighbor country Pakistan has been facing lots of crises including electricity, internet, telecom as well as economic crisis at a high level for several months.

The current electricity crisis in Pakistan has prompted warnings from telecom firms to halt cell and internet service.

In addition to its current economic problems, Pakistan is currently encircled by a power crisis.

The government has received a letter from Pakistan’s telecommunications providers urging it to halt internet and mobile connectivity in the nation soon.

Businesses claim that frequent power outages have seriously disrupted their business. In relation to this, the government has now also made the nation’s citizens informed of this warning.

Notice of Internet & Telecom Interruptions

The National Information Technology Board (NITB) of Pakistan tweeted information regarding the warning issued by telecom operators.

Telecom companies in Pakistan have issued a warning that online and mobile services may be interrupted owing to widespread, protracted power outages.

They claim that the power outage is complicating and impeding their business activities.

PM Sharif Had Warned of Load Shedding

Let us note that Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also forewarned the nation on Monday that load shedding would occur in July.

Despite the coalition government’s efforts to make the contract workable, Pakistan was unable to obtain the necessary liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply.

The study claims that in June, Pakistan’s monthly imports of fuel oil hit a four-year high.

Why Is Pakistan Facing A Huge Power Crisis?

The failure of Pakistan to reach an agreement on a contract for the delivery of natural gas for another month is the main cause of the country’s current power crisis.

Due to exorbitant prices and limited participation, the July tenders were canceled.

Data indicates that Pakistan is having trouble obtaining LNG for use in power production, which is driving up demand and raising the possibility of extensive outages.

Unsuccessful Efforts To Save Electricity

The Pakistani government has begun to make steps to conserve electricity. As a result, manufacturers, large factories, and shopping malls in a number of cities, including Karachi, have been forced to close. Government officials’ work hours have also been reduced.
