Oppo launches its new Under Screen Camera (USC) technology that is hidden beneath displays. However, this isn’t the first time that Oppo is talking about such technologies.
For quite a while, companies have been attempting to find a way to eliminate punching a hole for selfie cameras. Some cell phone makers went with the pop-up camera design as well, which wasn’t very successful.
Under display selfie camera is by all accounts the best answer for conveying a genuinely full-screen experience for mobile users.
Oppo’s new USC technology has promised to bring to the table an ideal balance between steady screen quality and camera picture quality for selfie fans.
Oppo says it has merged the innovation of hardware and its exclusive artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to keep the consistency of the display when the camera is at rest or is used.
Oppo has revealed how the selfie camera will be put under the display in series of tweets. It also states that the algorithms behind this new USC innovation will help HDR and white balance, haze removal, which can be an issue given that the camera would be beneath the display.
Oppo adds that the thought behind the technology is to ensure a bezel-less phone while guaranteeing that the selfie camera matches today’s high standards.
Under Screen Camera (USC) will also support many features like photo filers and intelligent beauty mode in the near future as they are essential components of the front camera on Oppo phones.
