Operation Ajay: India Rescues 212 Citizens Home From War-Torn Israel

We can’t forget the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Israel. Thousands are dying due to Hamas terrorists. Glad that some of our people are back to their homes!

The Indian government just pulled off a crucial operation ‘Operation Ajay’ to bring back our citizens from Israel, where there’s an ongoing war with Hamas.

A flight took off from Tel Aviv in Israel yesterday evening. It landed in Delhi early today with 212 Indians on board, including an infant. The government even covered the cost of their return, which is a great move.

The people who got to the board were chosen on a “first come first served” basis. So the Indian embassy had put out a call for all Indians in Israel to register their details. That’s how they picked who got to come back first.

Air India had stopped its flights to Israel right when the fighting started, so these people were stranded. That’s why this operation is so essential.

The External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, announced it all and said more flights will follow. There’s another one scheduled for tomorrow.

While the passengers are relieved to be back, the situation in Israel and Gaza is pretty intense. Over 1,300 people have been killed in Israel and Gaza regions.

Israel’s military is saying they’ll evacuate about 11 lakh people from Gaza city, for safety reasons. They’re planning some big moves in that area soon. But, the UN says it’s pretty much impossible to do this without causing a lot of suffering.

Residents can only go back when Israel says it’s okay. They’re also told to stay away from the fence between Gaza and Israel. So, it’s a tense situation and there’s concern about what will happen to all these people.

The moment that flight back to India, there were chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram,’ showing how grateful everyone was to be heading home.

So yeah, people are grateful to the Indian government for stepping up and making sure our people are safe. It’s called Operation Ajay, and it’s something we can all be thankful for.
